Family Night

Tonight we had the Jean family from our branch over to my parent’s house for family night. They moved into our branch 4 months ago and we love having them with us. They are originally from Haiti, moved to Florida about 15 years ago and eventually made their way to Utah. They have 10 people in their family but 3 of the kids are still in Florida. Jeremy of course being the sweetheart he is, went out of his way to meet their whole family when they moved in. After going into their home Jeremy realized what little they had. Jeremy and I got to go with our Branch President to the DI and get some essentials they didn’t have (beds, mattresses, couches, kitchen table, pots, pans, food, etc). After getting to know this family, I fell in LOVE. They are so humble and grateful for what little they do have. They have such strong testimonies and have never missed a day, let alone an hour of church. They have total faith in the Lord that their family will be taken care of. At times I focus on the next thing I want to buy and have a lists of things that I "need", I’m grateful for the happiness they show me because of the joy they have in the relationships with each other. Ultimately family is what is most important!!

Gotta LOVE the gym

So I just got back from the gym and while I was looking at the bulletin board, I met a bald man that was 51 years old (turning 52 in July- I don’t know why he told me his birthday). He never told me his name but… he did show me his massive biceps (and when I say massive I’m being totally sarcastic) and better yet took off his weight belt, flexed, pulled up his shirt and showed me his abs… I about threw but it totally made my day! CREEPER!!!

Temple Wedding Video

I know this is probably annoying that I'm putting up a second wedding video and we got married 6 months ago but it makes it easy to share with family and friends that care to see it. I loved Nate Pickett! He was the perfect person for the job and I would recommend him to anyone that needs a Videographer. The link is http://www.vimeo.com/19927856 and password is burkholtz (don't know why there is a t in there but that ok!)

Happy Six!

Just a six month recap!
-Jeremy and I have officially been married for 6 months
- We attend a branch in Utah (didn't know that existed) and both love our callings- Jer is great with the young men and his favorite part is probably helping them with church ball and I love the primary, I laugh probably more then I should with the kids.
- I got a new job at Mountain Region Home Health Care. I have only been there 2 weeks but with each job you learn something different and I'm definitely learning a lot. Jer is still working at Zion's Bank and really likes it.
- We started and finished LOST seasons 1-6. Jeremy was not happy with the way it ended and wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks.
- Got new carpet in our apartment. Now we aren't scared to take our socks off or fold our laundry on the floor.
- I still have no idea how to fold a fitted sheet...Why do they have to make it so difficult?
- We are going to Weber State- I am still planning on majoring in nursing and he is majoring in business to hopefully go on to Physical Therapy or Hospital Administration.
- Guilty Pleasures: mine is cup of noodle and popcorn- I could eat this every day. Jeremy's is cheese and wheat thins while watching ESPN.
- We have recently become obsessed with playing card games before bed as well as YAHTZEE!
-Every Sunday we go to either of our families for dinner. I've never made Sunday dinner once...I need to learn how to cook first.
- We haven't spent a day apart since Jeremy got home from his mission.

Welcome New Roommate

So the other night around 3:30 a.m. Jeremy and I were sound asleep, when I woke up to the loudest crash right next to me. Somehow my night stand, lamp, glass of water, and all my books that were on my night stand just fell over on the floor. I have no clue how this happened because I was sleeping completely turned over to the other side. I know for a fact I didn't hit it because I would have felt myself smack the table. Jeremy didn't think anything of it, and of course went back to bed just like that, but I was freaked out. After what seemed like forever I finally fell asleep and nothing else happened.
A few days later, however, I was relaxing on the couch watching some TV, while Jeremy was at the kitchen table doing homework when he gets a phone call... much to our surprise I'm calling him! I wondered how I could be calling him when I didn’t have my phone anywhere close to me. I started looking for it and sure enough it’s in my purse? I truely believe we have a ghost in our house! He’s probably thinking he funny scaring me half to death, I'm scared to be alone in our apartment now. I’ll let you know if any other creepy things happen tonight?
